Relay for Life Fundraiser

So, To help in the FUNDRAISING efforts for Relay for Life, Kelli and I are going to use our green thumbs. As you all know, plants are in abundant supply around here and we have "starts" from our plants and are putting them in neat little pots (of course with soil). Below are a few snapshots (with the names that we call them and a brief description) to help you determine if you'd like one. ALL PROCEEDS will go to the Relay for Life that Kirk's family is doing in honor of Grandpa Blake. Also see Emily's Blog from April 6 to see other ways you can support this great cause.

Now below you will see a variety of plants and what they can become. The plants below are EASY to take care of and come with a LIFETIME guarantee (meaning that Kirk will replace it if it dies on you). Generally speaking the plants only need to be watered once every week or every other week (and have been known to go longer without water). For the recently grown plant the cost is only $5.00 (relatively inexpensive) especially with a lifetime guarantee. Plus it comes with "VINE CHAT" for all the support you need to help grow your plant. Just call Kirk he will help you out. If you want something else or a fancier pot or basket let me know and we can talk about the price. I recommend, though, that you start off with the small pot to let the plant grow and then transplant to a larger pot or basket later.

I have a goal of selling at least 20 plants! Please help us out! I highly recommend the Spider plant for first time plant growers! These plants will make a great mothers day gift for you gentlemen out there looking for the perfect gift!

"Spider Plant" - Does not come with real spiders, but sends off little shoots that are fun to replant. Grows very quickly and has little white flowers on the "shoots".
Above: This picture is of a spider plant 2 weeks after planting. They grow quickly! This is the size of plants we are selling for the fundraiser.Fully Mature Spider Plant. Can be trimmed, cut back, and it will grow back very easily! Fun to have in the home!

We have a "Creeping Charly" A very quick growing plant and easy to take care of.
This is a picture of a creeping charly in a basket with a spider plant. (If you want a combination like this let me know and I'll see what we can't do.) Baskets would be extra charge.


Thanksgiving or Christmas Cactus (generally takes a lot longer to grow, but has very beautiful flowers)This is a well grown cactus plant. It has taken quite a few years to get to this size. What you would be getting is a few starts off of this plant. Usually this plant blooms around Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year it is still producing flowers! Amazing. (Recommended for an intermediate to advanced plant lover.)

Below is a picture of Devil's Ivy. Very easy to take care of. At one point we had grown one to the length of over 10' feet. I've seen much much longer! But you can keep it down to size by trimming it up.
Angel's Wings- Fun to grow. This plant has a variety of colors in the leaves.

English Ivy - one of my FAVORITE plants. Below is a well grown plant. Also pictured is the actual size that we are selling. It is somewhat sensitive, but still fairly easy to keep alive.
