For our enjoyment this weekend, we went to Canyonlands National Park: Horseshoe Canyon (approximately 45 miles east of Hanksville). Hanksville is about 2.5 hours east of Richfield. We did not go to Moab to get tot his hike. On the way we stopped and rolled easter eggs in Caineville, UT (where we used to roll them growing up). This was Kelli's first time really rolling the eggs. She made sure to keep one and eat it, keeping her family tradition alive.
The hike was really amazing. 3 miles in... 3 miles out. It was hailing when we arrived, the clouds broke and we started hiking. It only rained a little on the way out. We got to see some pretty amazing Indian writings. Enjoy.

What is egg rolling? I have never heard of it. the indian paintings are so cool.
Kelli, that's my kind of girl, eating an Easter egg. I have a hard time with the rolling tradition!
Have you heard our Horseshoe Canyon experience? My wonderful dad with his wonderful memory tells us, "oh it'll be about an hour at the most. We'll eat when we get back" so we go right before lunch time with my 3 little kids. I think we made it out right before it got dark....five or six hours later!!! Quite the experience, but I did enjoy seeing all the places where he and your mom found Indian baskets and stuff. It's a beautiful canyon. My kids made me promise never to take them there again though!
