The 222nd was deployed on Saturday, June 4. Kirk's cousin Mike was going. We decided to go the Cedar City Airport to say good-bye and show our support for the troops.
Some of the soldiers and the families walked over from the armory. Kyden was excited to see them.
Others were bused over. The fire department was there and they put a flag up for them to walk under.

Mike is married to Kirk's cousin Becky.
I am glad we were able to go. It made me so grateful for all of those who sacrifice for me and my family. Those that give up so much so that I have my freedoms and I feel safe here.

They had a quick little program. Governor Herbert was there as well as a general, and Jason Chaffetz. 
Kyden had fun being outside but was a little bit crazy towards the end...
I really am so grateful for all those who go and all those who stay and support them. You are giving me and my family a wonderful gift and we will never forget it. God Bless and God Speed. You are in our prayers!

I can't imagine how hard it would be to send someone off. Thanks to all the troops. Did you see Shelly there?
