Chinese New Year

Usually the Chinese New Year is celebrated early February so you can assume how I felt when i look at the calendar on the 20th of January and noticed that it was being celebrated on the 23rd of JANUARY!! Kirk loves everything Chinese. Those of you that know him should know this. Anyway last year we had a Chinese New Year party that was super fun and we wanted to make it a tradition. I asked my friend Heather if she thought we could pull one off and she offered to help. (Thank Goodness) So we got some invitations out and food assignments and we were a go.
Everyone brought seriously delicious food.
Most importantly they brought themselves so that we could enjoy their company.
Chopsticks, Fortune cookies, gold coins, Pockys, Dragon tattoos, and Chinese take out boxes were all in attendance.
After eating to our hearts desires we decided to take some "High School Dance Pictures" Couples got to pick their "props" and take a pose for a picture they would get at the end.
This was our Chinese "dance picture."
This is the group that came. It was seriously so much fun and we are glad that they would take some time out to help Kirk and I celebrate our not so Asian roots.
L-R, F-B: Heather & Nick Shober, Cameron & Kelsey Jack, Camille & Brady Leigh, Brooke, Camden & Tim Tasker.
Nikki & Kent Barney, us, Cassie & Aaron Tiede (adopted Ky in this picture), Trevor, Linea, Simone, & Caleb Lopez.
Steve Blake.
So in the end we want to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year and may the year of the Dragon be wonderful for you.
