"No Strip Vegas Trip"

 Kirk had some vacation time that he needed to take. About a month ago he took off the 20-24. We weren't sure what we wanted but our stipulations were: cheap, not a long drive, warm, away from Cedar. So last minute we decided to go to Vegas. There were some places there that we wanted to go see that we hadn't been able to any of the other times we were in Vegas. We left Tuesday the 21st.

The Old Mormon Fort was the first stop.

 Can you believe that Mormons actually had the first settlement in "Sin City" Granted it was abandoned after a few years but still.

 It cost us $2 dollars to get in and look around. Kyden loved it because he was able to just run around after the car ride.

 The history was pretty cool to read about too.

Peek-a-Boo

 It was such a nice day in Vegas too.

We can now mark this off our bucket list. We were glad we were able to go see it.

After we went shopping... for 2 hours and Kirk didn't complain once... granted he was shopping for running stuff but still I was so proud of him.

The next day we drove to the Hoover Dam. Kirk had never been there. We were really cheap so we didn't pay for parking but were lucky to find some free parking a little ways off.

 It really is a magnificent structure. 

We decided that since we were there we might as well walk across the Dam.

 Since we were on a "cheap" vacation we didn't pay the $30 dollars per person for the tour but it was still fun and amazing.

We picked a good week to got o Vegas because the weather was perfect. My husband even got to sport his shorts.

 The Lake Mead Overlook. That water is so blue.

 We even took the opportunity to go and check out the new bridge. We even drove over it, though that was an accident.

 By this time Kyden had had enough of pictures so he just looked off the bridge.

We can also mark this off our bucket list!

 We met up with my good friend Witney & her husband Skylar.

 Cafe Rio & Ice Cream after hit the spot. 

Kirk and I stopped by the Ross after we left. That Ross store was AMAZING! We need one like that near by. The St. George store was nothing compared.

 Kirk's Cousin Devin & his wife Andrea. Were nice enough to house us for the whole time we were there. Which was awesome fore us in many ways. We love the Hatch's and miss them a lot. In our free time we played a lot of games. Maybe they should move back to Cedar so we can do that more often?

 We went to a Pizza buffet Wednesday night. It was actually pretty good even if they did have some of the weirdest pizza ever. (i.e. cheeseburger pizza: it tasted like mustard to me, and macaroni and cheese pizza: which Devin favored)

 We were originally planning on coming home Thursday but after realizing we had nothing to come back for we begged the Hatch's to let us stay and bother them one more night. Of course they didn't tell us no. They are too nice for that. 

We met up with Devin for lunch and then the rest of us went to a park nearby.

 Cedar needs playgrounds like this. They are fenced in so that the kids can't run off and the ground is like rubbery.

Kyden had so much fun playing with Devin & Andrea's cute little girl, Layla.

 She was his buddy.

 Kirk decided it was perfect weather to take a nap.

 Halfway through he got comfortable. He said he loved feeling the sun on his face... I guess we don't get out much.

 Andrea and I doing our motherly duties. Keeping a close eye on the kids so we don't have any injuries.

 Thursday night the grown-ups immersed themselves in some more games and the kids watch old school mickey mouse while cuddling on the couch.

We were sad to leave Friday. This was a perfect vacation. We were so proud because we had been in Vegas and we didn't go on the strip once!
