Kirk had been training for a marathon for awhile but had to stop when he had a leg injury. He started running again and decided to go for a 1/2 marathon. He signed up for the Hurricane Half and he had a really good idea. He was going to dedicate each mile to someone. He wrote them on his arm so that he could remember.
He is so smart huh?
It was really windy and a little cold. But he did it and he did it in style.
People were saying that this is one of the hardest 1/2 marathons because of the incline on the trail and the wind blowing the sand dunes all over.
I am so proud of him. He did so good!
We ran into a Presidential Ambassador with some really cool signs.
Aaron and Cassie came out with me to watch Kirk run in. (Thanks Brooke and Tim for watching Ky so I didn't have to chase him)
65th place overall is really good. Considering that they had like 400 people signed up.
It almost made me want to train for a 1/2 marathon...almost.
Kirk however is now training for a mini triathlon.... He never stops.
Way to go Kirk!!!
