Day 10: Boston Trip, Saturday

April 23, 2011
When we booked our tickets we had no idea that Easter was so late this year and that we would be in Boston over Easter. But we had so much fun that I am glad we did. The festivities started today with an Easter Egg Hunt. Abby is in the primary presidency and was in charge of a hunt. We got to go help get set up and then Kyden got to go hunting.
They made theses cute "Easter baskets"
Kyden and Kirk waiting for the hunt. Before the hunt we were reminded about why we celebrate Easter and I thought it was a really good reminder.
And so it begins. The hunt was supposed to be outside but it was raining so we did it inside. They did one room for the sunbeams and nursery kids which was really smart.
They had eggs hidden literally all over the church. (except for the chapel and the cultural hall. Despite Abby reserving it months in advance a wedding reception was getting set up.)

Kyden loved hunting for eggs. To my surprise he would pick one up and put it in and move to the next. He didn't stop and play with the egg or try to open it. I was surprised. The Easter egg hunt was a big success. If you are wondering where Kyler, Gavin, and Landon were during this whole thing. I am sad to tell you they were all at home because Gavin and Landon were still a little sick. Landon was looking better by the time we got home though.
While the boys made a delicious dinner...
Abby and I started coloring Easter eggs.
It was fun as always. Gavin was the best though. He got really into it.
I am still surprised to this day how many people color Easter eggs but don't eat them... I find that very odd. Then again Kyler and Kirk think my family is crazy. My family would color like 2 dozen and eat them all. Everyone else seems to just color them, roll them, and throw them away.
Kirk came and colored eggs for a little bit.
Even Landon had fun!
I'd have to say that our eggs turned out awesome!
They tasted pretty good too.
Here's the whole bunch of us!
We stayed inside the rest of the time. It was actually really nice. We love just hanging out with these guys. This vacation reminded me so much of when we lived together that summer the boys sold. We had so much fun.
After we put the kids to bed we started in on our favorite thing. Games. We sure do miss those game nights and just hanging out at the house eating great food. These were some of our favorite times. I think we would go back even if all we did was hang out with the McEwens all day at there house.

We eat the eggs too growing up. But Bob doesn't. I made him eat one this Easter and he couldn't even do it. He had to spit it out! LOL. Madi LOVES them though!

Looks like you had a wonderful trip. I'm really jealous. You took awesome photos, so even if I don't ever go there, I got to see it through you. Love that you have such good friends like them. Fun stuff.
